Nokia 8 to be announced on August 16

Nokia has reportedly started sending out invites for an August 16 event on which it will make the Nokia 8 official.

This will be the first Nokia flagship in 3 years, and the first Android-powered premium handset with the Nokia brand. It will also be the the first smartphone by the Finns with a dual-camera.

The Nokia 8 is expected to have a 5.3″ 1440x2560px display, a Snapdragon 835 chipset that will likely be paired with 6 gigs of RAM. There will be dual 13MP Zeiss-branded cameras on the back.

It will come in Steel, Blue and Gold-Copper (or maybe copper-gold)

YU Yunique 2 arrives with better specs, Truecaller integration

Micromax subsidiary YU has announced a new smartphone. Dubbed Yunique 2, it’s the successor to the Yunique from 2015, featuring a larger display, better camera, higher capacity battery, and Truecaller integration.

The YU Yunique 2 is powered by MediaTek MT6737 SoC with quad-core 1.3GHz processor, and sports a 5-inch HD display. RAM is 2GB, while internal memory is 16GB (expandable by up to 64GB).

Meizu Pro 7 spec sheet leaks ahead of tomorrow’s unveiling

The upcoming Meizu Pro 7 and its secondary screen on the rear has already been the subject of plenty of leaks. It’s set to be unveiled tomorrow, but leaks related to the device aren’t stopping, with the latest one confirming most of the phone’s key specs.

The leak reveals the Pro 7 will have two variants – one powered by Helio P25 SoC and having 4GB/64GB memory configuration, while the other packing in Helio X30 chipset with 4GB/128GB memory.

Meizu’s upcoming flagship smartphone is less than 24 hours away, but we already know quite a bit about the Pro 7 and the more powerful Pro 7 Plus.

Despite rumors claiming one of the Meizu Pro 7 variants will be equipped with Samsung’s Exynos 8895 chipset, it looks like both devices will come with MediaTek chips inside.

A new Samsung smartphone has been spotted in a benchmark listing. The GFXBench listing reveals the device carries the model number of SM-A730x, with reports saying that it’s the Galaxy A7 (2018).

Now, that could well be true, given that the Galaxy A7 (2016) was SM-A710x and the Galaxy A7 (2017) is SM-A720x.

Google is sending out $5 credit coupons to Android users who have yet to purchase a book from Google, and who have opted in to receive the latest deals from Google Play. The coupon is good for use on certain titles. If you figured that you would be able to use the coupon to score a free book, forget it. The coupon can be used only toward eligible titles that cost more than $5.
